Grace App Communication is pleased to be able to offer a Workshop on the use of Grace App as a means of Independent Communication for people with autism or speech delay as a result of disability or injury – MONDAY, June 25th at 7pm in the TCube, 34 Castle St Dublin 2.
Bookings will be taken by way of a donation to LauraLynn House and the Children’s Sunshine Home who care for children with life limiting conditions: www.mycharity.ie/event/graceappworkshop
While I have 2 very demanding autistic children, I feel very lucky that I have been able to bring them home and raise them while working to overcome their communication issues and help all of us enjoy a better quality of life.
Sadly, there are many parents who do not get to bring their babies home and they need
As Sharon, one of the many Mums supported by LauraLynn house says: “You can spend your energy loving your child,” because LauraLynn House are providing the round the clock care and pain relief to make it possible “to make memories for the time you have left together.”
For your donation of €30, I will present a comprehensive 2 hour hands on session where participants will learn to recognise that most behaviour is communication, and that by following the learner and what interests them, we can introduce an appropriate means of getting what they want.
You will learn the best way to implement an alternative communication system app on an Pod Touch, iPad, or iPhone in order to reduce the communicative power of inappropriate behaviours.
You will learn to support the independence and mobility of the user in owning their device and the best way to keep it mobile. And I will also discuss ways to encourage alternative communication goals using the App and answer any questions.
There will be a few door prizes donated by Grace App supporters and some free codes.
My thanks to the TCube, the home of the Irish Software Developers network for donating the venue.
Look forward to seeing you there, Lisa Domican. Grace App Communication
